Drinking & Smoking:

Even though it is a commonly known fact, yet no many care to do much about it. Excessive drinking can damage your liver, lower the immune system, and decrease the endurance level as well. Consequently, your health will deteriorate and you wouldn’t be able to put your best foot forward in the gym. Furthermore, it will drain your energy as well and make you look older than you are.

Sleeping Late:

It goes without saying that our body needs an adequate amount of rest to function properly. Working round the clock can get it fatigued. The same statement holds true for our brain as well. If your brain isn’t getting the rest it needs, it’s productivity will be impacted.

The best way to give your body and mind the rest they deserve is to have a sound and restorative sleep for which, you need to sleep at the right time. Sleeping late has a lot of disadvantages associated with it. Firstly, you won’t be able to wake up on time. Thus, managing routine chores will be a tough task for you. When you have so much to do in so little time, it’s often fitness session that is crossed from the “to do” list.

Surely watching another episode of your favourite seems like an enticing idea but for the sake of your health and fitness, it’s better to shut the TV off and hit the bed early. Let your body and brain enjoy the rest they require.

Waking Up Late:

Waking up late is one of those habits you should try to get rid of as early as possible. A late start to the day means you are missing out on a lot of time that could have been utilised for numerous important tasks. It is also a sign of being lazy. Even if you don’t have a lot of chores lined up, you can always start your day early in the morning and focus on your fitness. As per fitness experts, the best time to work out is early in the morning. As the body and mind are fresh, there will be improved productivity leading to better performance in the gym.

Exercising When Tired:

A lot of people make this mistake of exercising when they are tired. It is akin to putting more pressure on your body. As a result, endurance and energy levels are low. Hence, they aren’t able to give their 100%. This adversely impacts their performance. This is one of the major reasons why I am against the idea of exercising on the way or right after getting back from work. As the body is already drained, it isn’t capable enough to exercise properly.

The crux here is that if you are tired, prefer resting for a while rather than hitting the gym. Only then you will be able to obtain the maximum benefits of exercising.
