Stardew Valley’s Pelican Town has a total of two stores. There’s Pierre’s General Store and of course the pit of misery that is JojaMart. Pierre’s has everything you need to become a successful farmer, but what if you want to put work aside for a moment and just indulge yourself? The Garden Village Shops mod will help you do just that.
The Garden Village Shops mod created by Tarniyar adds six new shops to Stardew Valley, including a flower shop, restaurant, bakery, clothing store, craft shop, and machine shop. Each one comes with a friendly merchant and a variety of modified items and recipes that you can’t buy in Pelican Town. Some of my favorite purchases have been chamomile seeds, parsley seeds, and shortbread. You can even buy absinthe if you really want to relax.
Garden Village is a whole new district that you can get to by taking the bus. It’s great how the mod fits perfectly into the game – the merchants, interiors, and buyable items feel like they belong in the world of Stardew Valley. Tarniyar explains in the mod description that future updates will add more items and other customers, and turn merchants into NPCs.
If you want to download the Garden Village mod, there is a step-by-step outline in the mod description. If you’re looking for other great mods, check out our best Stardew Valley mods list. My favorites are the stardew valley pierre Expanded mod, the Stray Cat Cafe mod that adds a cozy cafe run by twins, and a mod that swaps combat for cuddles.
